Team Canada made it to Costa da Caparica, Portugal on Saturday a little light on the sleep. The Canadians are in Portugal for the ISA World Surfing Games, which start Sunday with heats in the longboard and bodyboard competitions.

Nova Scotia’s Glen MacDuff is competing in the longboard event. His heat goes at 8:40 a.m. Portugal time, which is four hours ahead of Nova Scotia. Meanwhile, fellow Nova Scotian Pat Bannister will be in the water at 10 a.m. Portugal time to compete in the bodyboard event.

The rest of Team Canada will hit the water on Monday and Tuesday. The competition is being webcast at www.wsg2008.com.
